I applied online. The process took 5 months.
I applied for the position through Google's careers page. The first HR interview happened quickly, about a week after applying, and in it we talked about the company culture and I was asked about my salary expectations. The following week, I had another HR interview, in which they gave me information about the technical interview that would take place in the following weeks, and provided me with links to study and prepare for it. The technical interview never happened. Months later they contacted me saying that there were changes in the team responsible for hiring, and that the position I applied for had been closed.
