I submitted an online application in early October and received an email a few weeks later to schedule two, back-to-back technical phone interviews. These took place in early November. I heard back in late November that the hiring committee would consider me, and then received an offer on December 27.

Pros: Interning at Google is an amazing opportunity.
* Provides all meals (depending on office) that are all high quality and lots of variety.
* Interns are given a high level of trust; allowed to sit in on meetings and such.
* The company culture is extremely friendly, and most people are nice.
* There are many growth opportunities, such as classes and leadership series.
* Documentation of technologies (in general) is very good, and programming examples can be found fairly easily.
* Microkitchens everywhere.
Cons: The company is so large it can feel overwhelming at times.
There are many internal tools that can take a bit of time to get the hang of.
