Hardware Engineer Interview Experience - San Diego, California

Process

The interview process included a phone screen with a recruiter, a technical phone screen with the hiring manager, and then a virtual on-site with six interviewers.

An internal recruiter reached out to me about a hardware test role. I interviewed with the hiring manager, who recommended me for a design role. The recruiting staff began scheduling me for the virtual on-site but never provided interview dates when they shifted focus to the design role. I interviewed with the design role manager, who did not advance me to the design virtual on-site. The recruiter gave me feedback on the final round decision a week after speaking with the hiring manager.

The interview process with Google was very pleasant, straightforward, and respectful of my time compared to other FAANG companies.
