Process

I received emails asking me to do a code sample and arrange a phone screen at the same time. After two successive 45-minute phone interviews, I received a rejection email within half a month.

Questions

Given a list of numbers and a target number, find all combinations of numbers which are smaller than or equal to the target.

For example, if the list is {3, 7, 8} and the target is 8700, then 3, 8, 7, ..., 333, 888, ..., 8377 are all possible numbers.

Given a string and a dictionary of strings, find the longest string in the dictionary which can be formed by deleting some characters from the given string.

For example, S = "abpcplea", Dict = {"ale", "apple", "monkey", "plea"}, the return should be "apple".
