Process

The interview process at Google was by far the best process I went through. The recruiter was so nice and friendly and would always email me before and after each stage of the process to wish me luck or follow up. She definitely seemed like she was advocating for me and wished me success. As a new grad, it was really nice to have that kind of support through the process.

The process itself was not too difficult. It consisted of:

  • One phone interview with the recruiter
  • One phone interview with a senior mechanical engineer
  • A PDF portfolio submission
  • One onsite interview (four one-on-one interviews with senior mechanical engineers)

They were all technical interviews. Some questions were about mechanics of materials, and some were more like "case studies" about how I would go about designing and manufacturing a part and how I would make decisions in the process.
