Process

A Mechanical Product Designer called, a different person than I was told via email. They were also from a different team, one that interacts with the position I was applying for.

The call focused mainly on my projects and personal prototypes. Overall, the call went very well in my opinion. There were good vibes and laughs, so much so that the caller went well over the allowed time.

When I apologized about the time, the caller said that it's okay; they go over when they find something of interest in a candidate. They were interested in my design iteration approach and 3D printing techniques, among others.

Based on my projects, they said that I would be best suited for a similar electrical position, since I had worked on electromechanical prototypes. There were no technical questions surrounding mechanical engineering.

The only downside is that the recruiter never contacted me back with a cordial result, regardless of the outcome, even after I politely requested to know in my "thank you" email.
