Following the initial HR recruiter screening, I was interviewed by 5-6 engineers. The interview presented many tough questions and was easily the hardest I've ever experienced. This company operates its projects (phones, tablets, etc.) with only one Mechanical Engineer per project, necessitating comprehensive knowledge in product design. They asked numerous questions about Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and stressed its critical importance in the design process. Despite nearly twenty years of product design experience, I ultimately did not pass muster. The primary reason was insufficient FEA experience, leading to my rejection. I was informed that I was considered solely a Product Designer (PD) and not sufficiently a Mechanical Engineer (ME).
If I had much experience with FEA.
