There were 3 different programming tests and 1 interview where I was asked questions about how I would or have handled certain situations at work, regarding disagreements and other personnel-related issues. I was told that that part of the interview was to determine my “Googlieness.” The problems ranged from intermediate to difficult. It would have been better if I spent time studying and practicing algorithms before the interview. Each session was around 50 minutes long. I was very disappointed that we never talked about what the job would be like. The assumption seemed to be that I would automatically accept any offer. They could have potentially saved me and all of the other interviewers a lot of time by first having a 1-hour conversation about the job first.
How I would handle a situation where workers on my team were not getting along.
