They contacted me on LinkedIn. I didn't even apply for this position. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought maybe they were interested in one of my projects.
After a phone interview with the recruiter, they congratulated me and said that I could skip a phone screen and move directly to the onsite tech interview. While I was waiting for them to set up the tech interview, I declined a pretty good job offer and started actively preparing.
Now, I understand that most likely I didn't pass the phone interview, and they just tried to get rid of me by delaying the process. After almost two months of waiting, I finally got through to one of the recruiters and was told that they decided to not move forward.
Just wasted two months of my life with false hope. Why not just say that I'm not a good fit for this position from the very beginning so I could save my time and nerves?
