Process

Recruiters contacted me to set up the initial phone screen.

The initial screen was a 45-minute Google Meet call with a current Google Engineer, who asked one technical interview problem. I heard back that I passed the phone screen in a few days and began scheduling and filling out required forms for the final interview day.

The recruiter set up a call with me to explain what to expect for the final interviews, how to prepare, what kinds of questions to expect, and so on.

The final interview day consisted of five different 45-minute interviews, starting at 10:15 AM and ending at 3 PM. There were 15 minutes between calls and a 1-hour lunch break in the middle. The interviews consisted of:

  • 1 Leadership interview (non-technical)
  • 4 Technical Interviews

Questions

The questions were like typical technical interview questions.

Their technical difficulty starts pretty easy, though they expect you to solve it initially pretty quickly. This allows them to add a "curveball" or additional requirements, which you are expected to handle and work into a new solution.

These "curveballs" can get to be pretty complex, and it's easy to get lost in the new requirements.
