Software Engineer Interview Experience - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Process

The process was straightforward. A recruiter contacted me and scheduled an HR round, which was followed by a technical phone screen. I was then invited on-site (Cambridge, MA) for a full day of interviews. The entire process took a little over 10 weeks.

I personally felt the on-site interviews went very well, and I followed all recommendations from the Google recruiting team. However, in the end, after a wait of more than two weeks, I was informed that they decided not to extend an offer. I received no feedback on what went wrong, despite the decision-making process taking a considerable amount of time. I was told it is Google's policy not to elaborate on the reasons behind their decisions.

Questions

I would not say any of the questions were particularly difficult, but they were a bit tricky.

Make sure you test your code for boundary conditions and with different inputs.

And always, THINK OUT LOUD!
