Pros: Awesome food, great salary, wonderful coworkers. Lots of room for a self-starter to advance. Promotion can be quite rapid if you are determined and this is your goal. None of the cost/benefit approach to IT that you see at a lot of other companies.

Cons: Management can be clueless or absent at times. It can take a lot longer to get things done than you expect.

Pros: Awesome food, great salary, wonderful coworkers. Lots of room for a self-starter to advance. Promotion can be quite rapid if you are determined and this is your goal. None of the cost/benefit approach to IT that you see at a lot of other companies.

Cons: Management can be clueless or absent at times. It can take a lot longer to get things done than you expect.

Pros: Google offers free healthy food, onsite gyms, personal trainers, limited onsite health care, and free buses to and from work. They also help work-life balance by providing Wi-Fi on the buses so that work can be done while commuting. This means less time spent at the office.

Cons: If a person is hired on at a junior level, HR expects that person to earn promotions until they attain a senior level. Google management winnows out those who don't earn a senior level within a certain amount of time. That said, Google management does not require anyone starting out at a senior level to earn promotions.
