I applied for the role online through Google Careers. A recruiter from Randstad Enterprise, supporting Google Engineering, reached out to me.
They sent me a Google Hiring Assessment, which I passed. A couple of days later, the recruiter emailed me saying that even though I passed the Hiring Assessment, they would not be moving forward with the interview process.
The feedback included working on my coding skills, even though my coding skills were not tested. As a result of this, I have to wait another 90 days before applying to another job, through no fault of my own.
This is a total waste of a candidate's time. If the recruiter does not think the candidate's experience fits the role they applied to, then they should not be asking the candidate to complete a hiring assessment only to reject them later.
