Software Engineer Internship Interview Experience

Process

They contacted me a few days after my application, referred by an engineer at Google.

Two phone-screen interviews were assigned to me, each lasting 45 minutes.

The first one involved questions about my projects and a task to search for a number in an ordered array. I used binary search. The recruiter then asked me to write some test cases.

In the second interview, I was asked to draw a tree and then connect each vertex from left to right within each level. I was using recursion. I messed up and could not finish it. The recruiter did not talk too much.

I received the rejection information after 3 days.

Questions

  1. Search a number in an ordered array.

  2. Draw a tree and then connect each vertex from left to right in each level.
