Interviewed in MV for a position in SEA. The onsite went smoothly with follow-up phone interviews, and I was told that they would extend an offer.
The post-offer stage was super shady and bordering on unethical. The recruiter collected compensation expectations from me and said that was within their range. Later, they gave me a lowball offer which would have involved me taking a pay cut, and I refused to accept. They pulled a bait-and-switch on me and, until the very last moment, kept stalling me with the promise of a higher salary but didn't come through. Fortunately, I had another offer, and I decided not to work with a company with such dirty negotiation tactics.
To all future candidates: Make sure you have a competing offer, or they will lowball you!
