Software Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process

Hands down, one of the best experiences I have had.

HR contacted me for a phone interview. I gave the interview, and within two hours, I received a call for an onsite interview.

The onsite interview had five rounds plus a lunch interview. The questions were categorized into three areas:

  • Coding
  • Design
  • Open-ended questions

Interviewers were required to ensure all these categories were covered thoroughly.

The interviews were more like discussions, and the interviewers treated me like a human who could make mistakes rather than some machine that would spew out answers the next second.

Questions

Open-ended questions were quite interesting. How would Google transfer data between a phone and its cloud when it doesn't own the cell tower?

Was this helpful?
