Process

I had a phone interview that was a very strange experience. The interviewer didn't say much, totaling only five sentences for the entire interview, and didn't even tell me their name. They asked me the difference between an ArrayList and a LinkedList. Next, they asked me the following question. I tried to use a Range Tree to solve it, but they interrupted me and asked me to write a brute-force solution instead.
