Process

  1. HR contacted me and asked for my resume.
  2. I talked to HR. I was asked some basic CS questions, and they decided when to schedule the phone interview.
  3. Phone interview: The interview was conducted via Google Hangouts and lasted about 45 minutes. The interviewer asked me to introduce myself and then asked questions. I had to write my answers in a Google Doc.
  4. On-site interview: The interview took place at the Google Taipei office and consisted of 4 rounds, each lasting 45 minutes. Two rounds were in the morning, and two were in the afternoon. Each round was similar to the phone interview, except I used a Chromebook provided by Google for the on-site interview. The editor was slightly more convenient than Google Docs, offering syntax coloring. In one of my interviews, one interviewer was American, so I had to communicate with them in English during that round.
  5. There was a fifth person who guided me to lunch. Since this had no effect on the interview result, I tried to talk to them more.

Questions

I was only asked technical questions.

Most questions are not difficult. I think they are hard, akin to LeetCode medium questions. However, they might add some limitations after you solve the basic questions, and the questions could then become LeetCode hard level.
