Cons: In spite of Google's quirky reputation, it's a massive company with all the red tape, processes, layers, etc., typical of big companies. As a result, I've found the process of writing software here to be exceedingly tedious, as my time is swallowed up by learning internal tools and standards. There is no semblance of a "start-up" or "hacker" environment. If you need an environment that is engaging, fast-paced, multi-faceted, and gives you the ability to solve higher-level problems and use creative skills, you will likely find the work environment here to be suffocating.

Pros: Good culture and lot of opportunities, plus many great and smart team members you will be working with.

Cons: Not much, just sometimes too much work.

Pros: Work-life balance, free food, and benefits.

Cons: Things can move slowly. Too many layers of management.
