A recruiter reached out to me to interview for a software engineering role. The process seemed extremely clear and structured. However, what was frustrating was that I wasn't able to get any information about the potential roles until I had gone through the technical interviews, which are pretty substantial. I couldn't even learn about roles using languages I don't know.
It might be a necessity at such a big company, but it's a pretty big time sink to not be able to have an idea of what job you're really applying for. Google does so many things, and there's a chance I might not even be interested in the roles.
