I was contacted by a recruiter in October 2018. After the HR screening, she notified me that since I was graduating in May 2019, they would get back to me in January 2019 to schedule my onsite interview for February 2019.
They did not contact me in January. I initially thought they might not be moving forward with my candidacy, but I believe they should at least inform the candidate about such decisions. I found this whole behavior highly unprofessional. Luckily, I had other competing offers, so it didn't bother me much.
Now, they contacted me again in February. The recruiter had changed in November, so she scheduled another phone call with me. Seriously, after four long months, are we back to square one?
After all this unprofessional behavior, I don't even feel like moving forward with the process further.
On a side note, I've had really good interview experiences with other big firms like Facebook and Amazon, and I received full-time offers from them. I did not expect this much unprofessionalism from Google recruiters.
