Software Engineer (University Grad) Interview Experience

Process

I was referred by my friend who works there. The recruiter approached me the day after and gave me a coding challenge. Upon finishing the coding challenge, I received an email regarding the next step, which was a phone interview. I thought I did pretty well on the phone interview, but I was rejected two weeks later.

Questions

The coding challenge consists of two questions. The first one was pretty easy and straightforward. The second one was to find the longest absolute file path.

For the phone interview, the question is: given an array of integers sorted in ascending order, find the missing number in that array. For example, given the array [0, 1, 3, 4], [1, 2, 3, 4], or [0, 2, 3, 4], there is always a missing number in the array, and you have to find it.
