Process
The selection process included:
- A preliminary interview
- Three technical interviews
- A culture interview
- An interview with the team manager
Between each stage, there were conversations with the recruiter to clarify doubts about the process.
The preliminary interview is similar to the technical interviews. The interviewer presents a programming problem, and the candidate must solve it in approximately 40 minutes. All technical interviews involved basic concepts of algorithms and data structures. I recommend planning the solution before starting to write code. Additionally, start with the simplest solution you can think of and then optimize it.
The culture interview focuses on leadership. Therefore, it is interesting to prepare with real examples of leadership, planning, and conflict resolution.
The interviews are usually in English. However, the candidate may be lucky enough to find a Brazilian interviewer who doesn't mind conducting the interview in Portuguese.
