A recruiter contacted me to inquire about my interest in an internship position. After a few follow-up emails discussing my background, current position, and grades, I was invited to a call for a more detailed discussion.

The recruiter was very nice and friendly, definitely on the interviewee's side. However, I wasn't a good match for a software engineering internship as my main focus is Data Science. (Note: Data Scientists still often go through a software engineering internship hiring process.) I definitely plan to improve my software engineering skills and re-apply.

My recruiter followed up with an email providing a vast amount of very useful material and tools for development. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience and look forward to trying again.
