I applied online and received an interview at my university in October 2018. It consisted of two back-to-back interviews with two of Google's software engineers, each about 45 minutes long.
Each engineer started by introducing themselves and then asked me one non-technical question, such as "What is an accomplishment you are proud of?" After that, we jumped straight into technical questions.
The technical questions were pretty straightforward algorithm questions.
Given two strings containing regular characters and backspace characters (represented by "<"), return true if both strings are the same after all backspaces are processed, and false otherwise.
ie) "abc<<de<f" and "adca<<f" should return true.
Given a perimeter, return all possible tuples of side lengths of a triangle that add to that perimeter.
Given a list of vertices, return the vertices of a rectangle with the smallest area.
