Process

Several meetings over phone and computer involved tackling some open-ended problems. During these discussions, you were expected to explain your thoughts and reasoning.

Nothing was explicitly difficult, but depending on the specific problem presented by the interviewer, it could be a bit vague or light on details. This might cause some trouble.

Questions

One of the more technical questions was about treating a 2D array like a map. Given some values that correspond to different types of land, the task was to provide statistics about each special type of land. Adjacent cells with the same land type would define a group. Some statistics involved the number of individual groups and the average group size for a given type of land.
