I gave my resume to a Google employee at our school job fair. One month later, I received an email from Google stating they wanted to schedule an interview at a specific time.
I requested to postpone my interview so I could prepare myself, and they accepted.
On the day of the interview, I received a phone call from Google. The interviewer was very nice and friendly.
My first question was, "If I give you a large document including text and numbers, and I ask you to retrieve just phone numbers, how will you do that? With which library or tool?"
My second question was about the Santa Secret game: "If you want to make a list of students in the class where everyone gives exactly one gift and everyone receives exactly one gift, how would you do that?"
I wasn't sure about the first question at that moment and had no idea why the interviewer asked it. The answer to the second question involved using a hash table.
