Google is a place with amazing learning opportunities. There are lots of very smart, skilled people to learn from.
Advancement is difficult, as there are a lot of talented people competing for a relatively small number of promotion slots.

I think the interview process was good. They take prior experience into account, with a heavy emphasis on a technical portion. If you are technically competent and fit into the company culture, then it goes smoothly.
