Pros

Lots of perks, great coworkers, good work-life balance for those who choose to take it.

Cons

Perf season is maddening. Public trust has eroded so far that we are now definitely the bad guys.

Advice to Management

To build back public trust, make sweeping changes to internal politics and performance review season to truly put the user first.

Stop rewarding people for swooping in, getting a product launch, then leaving. That does not deserve a promotion! Promote the folks that stick around and make the products great.

Stop putting $ first. We can still make bucket loads of cash without demographic data on our users.

Provide an alternate search experience for privacy-minded folks (no cookies, no recorded logs, ads 100% keyword based). The goodwill will reward us plenty beyond the slight dip in revenue loss from lack of demographics.

For the love of god, stop with the "Join YouTube Premium." Aggressively marketing things like this makes users hate us, and we end up with angry users ready to jump at the next alternative.
