Google has gone downhill
Google has many impactful products that require real innovation to work on, especially search. It's hard to think of how technology could improve more people's lives. Google also has deep pockets, which allows it to invest in cutting-edge technology, in particular LLMs. Google may not build the first version of them, but you can bet it will invest enough money that it will catch up.
That dead look behind everyone's eyes. The hypocrisy in management, especially in its flimsy justifications of layoffs. The dead feeling inside yourself, and the viral despair from being surrounded by others who are equally unhappy.
