The work done at Google for an intern or a low-level SDE seems too "normal" in some teams, meaning it doesn't make much impact and can be done by anyone with basic programming skills.
The work done at Google uses a lot of its own frameworks (though they are very advanced), which are inaccessible outside. This makes it difficult to directly adapt the skills learned at Google to another place.
