Good tooling makes work and collaboration easier. Most everyone is a pleasure to work with and is trying to be friendly and helpful. I did not encounter anyone that could be characterized as being manipulative or Machiavellian.
Product goals can be unclear, and it can feel unfocused, like you're stuck in a churn. Coordinating with other teams can be difficult, and getting visibility requires some amount of politics.
Provide more direction and coordinate between the teams rather than trusting your engineers to figure it out.
It went well, I'd say. The interviewer asked a few non-technical questions to get me going. Then we moved on to the technical questions. The interviewer helped me as I went along and guided me through any problems I faced.
I applied online, instead of through the school website. I applied for Data Analyst positions, but they gave me a coding/tech interview. I assumed that all interns had to be SWE before they were assigned to any specific positions.
Awesome experience. Timely; everyone was helpful and friendly. Didn't get an offer, but the recruiter made sure to extend an offer to work with me again if I were to apply in the future.
