- Massive scale (ship to >1B users)
- Lots of red tape to launching (due to size/scope mostly).
- Recently Google has started hiring more management from outside the company instead of promoting from within, like they used to. This has resulted in a shift in focus toward profit and shininess and away from technical innovation / curiosity-driven exploration.
Hire more VPs/directors internally and/or with an emphasis on passion for the product.
