You have to be a specific type of person
Great perks, great benefits, lots of flexibility in your schedule, and job security. (Pretty sure Google doesn't fire anyone).
Good work/life balance compared to other jobs with similar pay.
Bureaucracy at every level. Tech debt that sometimes seems insurmountable. I've spent full afternoons trying to change some text to a slightly different shade of grey because the codebase is so convoluted. Boring, boring work.
