I've worked at Google for about 4 years now. I love, love, love it.
Smart, amazing people who get stuff done. The quality of engineers is on the decline lately, though.
Bureaucracy makes it much harder for products to get launched. Code reviews take a while. There is lots of self-entitlement among many employees.
I don't really have that much advice. Raise the hiring bar for incoming software engineers. Consider firing people more. It's very hard to get fired; admit you made a wrong hiring decision and sometimes let people go.
2 phone screens, and 4 algorithmic onsite questions. Some interviewers were nice, others weren't quite as nice. Need to know some simple probabilistic concepts, as well as traditional DFS, BFS, etc.
Two phone interviews were conducted, both involving coding. One interviewer was really nice and friendly, while the other was sort of unresponsive. Overall, it was an okay experience. A small chat at the end with the interviewers was pleasant and in
The first round of the coding challenge was quite daunting. It was a very crucial coding challenge. This experience was very good. One needs to prepare for hours on HackerRank and LeetCode.
