Pros

The best minds in the world work here, although we have lost a few top talents due to bureaucracy, DEI, and politics.

Cons

Too much virtue signaling. Some make it even into products (see Imagen fiasco). Risk-averse.

Majority of workers who came through just LeetCode grinding or during COVID low-standard hiring are mostly clueless about running a profitable business or shipping features that users love, or what really matters for building a sustainable organization.

Advice to Management

Fire disloyal people who talk bad about Google while collecting $400k+ paychecks (constructive criticism from actually knowing things is different).

Fire coasters.

Fire anti-AI crowd who simply don't get the moment we are in.

Take more risks. Ship faster. Accelerate.

Things definitely improved in 2024, but you could take more risks and ship even faster. Clean up DEI/activists (see Meta).
