I sent a resume and got a phone screen scheduled, which was a coding interview. The recruiter handled scheduling the interview. I had to write about my experience on the Google website when applying.

The process was streamlined and involved a recruiter and several software engineers. We talked through a bit of my past work, and I spent most of the time answering a number of questions.

First, there was an HR reach out to schedule interviews, followed by two technical interviews on the same day. It took some time to receive the results because the team was having difficulty making decisions.
