Coworkers are generally pretty skilled and hard-working compared to other lower-tier companies I've been at. Also, the perks and pay are decent.
There are a lot of people online who claim that the WLB at Google is something super amazing and cushy. Don't believe any of that. In practice, from what I've seen, the people here generally work a bit more than I've seen at other places. Your number of CLs submitted and the number of lines of code you write are all tracked and very publicly available for everyone. If you fall below a certain threshold, be prepared to get called out, which I haven't quite seen at other places. Also, the systems here are usually very convoluted, and there's generally a lot of boilerplate and config and setup to get even very basic features implemented and working.
The senior leadership is not particularly inspiring, to be honest.
The process was straightforward. The programming questions were not hard, and the interviewers were easy to communicate with. However, the offer involved down-leveling me, so I passed on it. Overall, the interview experience was good.
Applied online for a role I'm interested in (not necessarily aligning with my experience). Went through the interview. The algorithmic question had a math/logic twist to it. I couldn't solve it without help and didn't pass. I really liked the recr
Received an online assessment shortly after submitting the application. Completed the OA but did not pass. The company communicated the result promptly, and the overall process—from application to final response—was straightforward and efficiently ma
