Google pays extremely well and takes care of its employees (well, interns) and will make sure you are in an environment to succeed. Benefits are great as well.
It can be a fast-paced company at times. The team I was part of was somewhat full of engineers who unrealistically expected an intern to complete research with no prior experience.
