I was contacted by a staffing agency for this role. After I submitted my resume, a phone screen was soon scheduled.
The phone interview was for 30 minutes with a Director, who wanted to know more about my background and the projects I had worked on. After that, I was called for an onsite interview. The interview consisted of three rounds:
Everything was a positive experience up to this point. I met very nice people who were polite and professional.
After that, I was called again for an onsite round to meet with a VP. This was the only time I had a negative experience during the whole interview process.
The VP arrived 15 minutes late and did not introduce himself formally, nor did he apologize for being late. He started chatting without asking for my professional summary. While I was responding, he was typing on his phone for the initial 5 minutes and was not paying attention. Then, he asked the question, "Tell me what you are good at," and began asking very low-level technical questions. He asked 4-5 questions and stopped after 20 minutes, with still 20 minutes to spare. A few days later, I learned from the staffing agency that they would be moving forward with another candidate.
What are you good at?
