Software Engineer Interview Experience - Evanston, Illinois

Process

I went to the career fair and spoke with a representative from GrubHub.

She offered me an on-campus interview for today.

The interview began with a brief introduction to the company. Following that, I was asked about my interest in programming and why I wish to continue working in this field.

They also posed general behavioral questions, such as how I collaborate within a team.

Afterward, I was given a coding problem: to implement a thread-safe linked list. The class needed to include methods for head(), tail(), push(), and an iterator().

I am currently awaiting the results.

Questions

  1. Implements a thread-safe linked list.
  2. The class needs to contain head(), tail(), push(), and iterator(). The iterator() method should return an iterator for the list.
