There's a lot of focus on meaningless details at the expense of things that actually matter.

As a regular engineer, you don't really have a lot of say in how things work or what you want to work on. You're assigned as they see fit, even though you may not like the new team/feature to be worked on, but they never ask you what you might like to work on.

Management is very strict, which leads to burnout.

Please take into consideration what ordinary folk would like to work on. A lot of us would love to work on certain projects/teams, but we are never asked.

I'm sure you can play to the strengths of your employees if you actually try.
