If you choose to apply, be prepared for all of the invasive, proctored nonsense that comes with this. You're required to give ongoing webcam access and window management control to HackerRank for the duration of the assessment.
Even if you can get past the dystopian nature of this in principle, it seems like a pointless baseline to measure by, as it creates unrealistic conditions in which no programmer would ever actually work (i.e., someone watching them and not allowing them to look anything up).
Do you consent to us recording you taking the online assessment and then passing the recording to an AI program that will determine if you cheated or not?
