I applied online. The recruiting team took quite some time to get in touch with me – maybe 3 weeks – to schedule an interview.
When I connected with the interviewer, I learned this was not really a job opening, but a catch-all. The interviewer also had to turn their camera off, which is fine, but I could clearly hear that they were on the move – elevator buttons/noises, etc. I clearly did not have their attention.
Since there was no job opening, there were no next steps. I eventually got an email that they had decided not to proceed with my candidacy (for the non-existing job).
This was extremely disappointing. HashiCorp is one of my favorite companies. I interviewed with them 2 additional times for different roles. I only had 1 positive interview experience and declined 2 offers.
