I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks.
Recruiter Call -> First Stage Technical Interview Online.
Call with recruiter was great, super professional and helpful.
During first stage interview with AI Researcher, I started asking him questions about the work, I wanted to know if we're actually helping Ukraine, actually building drones that aren't for show/demo but actually for use. His answers were very "polished" and very unlikely to be true with assurances we're on the ground every day working with real drones for Ukraine defense. I called him out on it.
I let him know these questions are pretty critical, and he continued to throw standard recruiter-provided answers. He went pink-faced and tried to walk out. I basically had to polish his ego to get him to sit down and continue answering questions.
My feedback from him was I was a bad fit from lack of motivation. Lot of good reasons to reject me like rough code, but lack of motivation for helping Ukraine is laughable. Hopefully he's just a bad egg otherwise Helsing's employees are a bunch of kids playing make-believe.
Asked to write a CSV parser, with some follow-up questions around its behavior and handling different CSV data.
