Nothing to think about, except it's more of a semi-government organizational culture. It's a killer company for technical guys. If you're staying there for 2-3 years, then your technical career will be over.
Managers are mostly non-technical and they have no depth in technology, so it becomes more of a service-oriented company.
Due to low technical expertise at the managerial level, the work they take up from their US counterparts is mostly left-over work and fixes.
If you're serious about building your technical career, never join this organization (especially HP R&D). It's namesake R&D; otherwise, it's more of a service sector organization.
Due to its enormous worldwide presence, there's a lot of focus on process, which can create unnecessary bottlenecks if your focus is on technology.
HP is a super big company, and it's too big a company for any ordinary guy to suggest or advise HP.
Anyways, one simple suggestion is to adapt new technology and stop creating unnecessary legacy codebases.

Very Sophisticated recruiter: I interviewed as a Java developer. There were three rounds of interviews. The first two were technical. The first is based on system design and coding. The second is based on database system design and coding. I was knoc
Two technical rounds. The first round involved coding in the C programming language, and the second round, on the same day, covered OS and data structure concepts. After that, I received an email stating that I was not opted for further rounds.
