Pros

I liked the people I worked with at HP very much, and the technology I worked with was interesting and unique.

Cons

Globally-distributed program teams meant teleconferences at very inconvenient hours. There was also a chronic shortage of QA resources, causing finished projects to sit on the shelf until they could be verified for release.

Advice to Management

In software engineering, the ratio of software development engineers to quality assurance engineers was too high. That has to improve; a workable division of labor regarding software verification needs to be found.
