Pros

Exposure to new technologies is good for upskilling.

Cons

Terrible culture. Collective punishment. Work/life balance is poor.

During the interview process, the company wanted employees onsite 1 day a week. Two weeks after starting the job, they changed their policy to 3 days onsite.

Refusal to move employees onto remote working contracts despite being eligible for the contract, as they are over 80k away from the office (coworkers travelling 3 hours to and from the office).

Conflict-avoidant management who let bad behaviors develop.

£75 to attend the Christmas party. This has been free in every company I worked in prior to HPE.

Advice to Management

Deal with problem employees directly rather than collective punishment.

Let employees who are 80km away from the office switch to a remote contract.

Lead by example; do not have developers work onsite while you work from home.
