You work with fantastic, inspiring people. I have gotten a lot of support and help from both my manager and mentor.

• Pay is horrible. I could almost double my pay going somewhere else.
• There is no culture. This is not the old HP anymore.
• Constant cost-cutting measures are being put in place, including ones that end up wasting employees' time, such as not having sufficient resources or not replacing 4-year-old laptops.
• Work-life balance is horrible. 50-60 hours a week is not uncommon. Managers will not bat an eye if you are spending 70+ hours a week for months on end.

Focus on the employees. Figure out where to be adding resources, whether it be more compute nodes in labs or updating employee laptops with solid-state drives, etc.

There is a lot of time wasted trying to bypass these issues, and it is hurting growth much more than the cost cutting is saving.
