I was invited for a 2-hour interview. When I arrived, I had to wait 20 minutes for "the manager" as he was having coffee with his friend. Then we went to the office, where he couldn't find a conference room, so we went to the dining room. I had an interview in the dining room among other people, in a quite noisy place. After a 1-hour talk, he said I would be having another round and he was trying to find a dev who might talk to me. We were walking around the office, and this guy was asking a few devs for help. Finally, I had another round with a dev. We were talking in the conference room, but after a few minutes, another person asked us to leave, so we found another room.
Guys, this was the most horrible interview in my life. I don't recommend HSBC in Hong Kong - falcon project - weak devs, managers without respect to candidates.
OOP, low latency, multithreading, etc. – nothing unusual except one thing. The dev asked me about method synchronization, so I said that synchronized is one way (not that efficient, but a way). He said that this is not enough, as I need to call the notify() method! Guys, this was the most insane thing I heard during an interview. After that, I suggested finishing the interview as there is a gap between my knowledge and his.
If you are smart and know your value, don't go there; it's a waste of time.
